Church Car Park at Epsom Methodist
Church
When attending meetings involving use of
the Church Car Park members are kindly asked to display a leaflet indicating
NAME and which MEETING is being attended. This is essential to identify the
car owner, and where on the premises should it prove necessary to move any
particular car in case of emergency. This has occurred on a number of
occasions where ambulances have been on site
The car park should only be used
if attending Church meetings, not because you are a member or an
associated user! These notes covers the rear car park as well!
This request applies also to Sundays
where it would be appreciated if car owners could display their name, please
ensure your guests/visitors/speakers/preachers/christening parties are aware
of this process.
We understand that some members have
been using Gladedale and the former adjacent Court site, but these
facilities were only made available to EMC when we were without a car park
during the rebuilding.
Your assistance and co-operation
will be greatly appreciated.

PARKING
IN PARADISE!
You must have
heard the old school boy conundrum –
Q:
“How do we know
that cars have existed since creation?”
A:
“The Lord God
drove out the man from the Garden of Eden”
(Genesis 3
v24)
The Garden of
Eden was, of course, intended to be a symbol of Paradise, but in Genesis
chapter 3 it became the cradle of sin and alienation, which by chapter 4
led to conflict and murder! Now, that seems much more likely,
especially if they had cars. It is the same in our own little paradise
– EMC is a place of friendship, warmth, love and co-operation
throughout, except in the car park – where mild exploitation,
selfishness, thoughtlessness, tension and conflict flourish among
otherwise kindly Christians, members of EMC community groups, parents
and cuckoos of Epsom!
No one should leave a car and go shopping in Epsom.
The car park is
for those using the building only.
No one should park in an outside parking space, occupying two spaces and
preventing another person from parking.
No one should park in the ministers’ reserved spaces or the disabled
space, except those authorized to do so.
No one should park in any place other than the marked out parking places
or you can park in the rear car park.
No one should leave a car without leaving a clearly visible paper which
indicates their name and their group/venue.
No one has the right to park in the EMC car park, although everyone
using the building is welcome to do so if there is an available space …
but if not, they must use one of the public car parks.
Please pass on
this information to members of your group, to your family and your
friends, and ensure that the community groups are also aware. Please
let us become more reasonable, considerate and respectful of one another
– before the Lord God bans us all from paradise!!

Epsom Methodist Church- the
venue for your event
Epsom
Methodist Church is situated in the heart of Epsom town. The church, with
its own car park, is a short walk from Epsom BR Station and on a main bus
route.
The church
is a busy and lively family and community orientated church with a number of
clubs and activities for children, young people and adults, both during the
daytime and in the evenings.
The church
building has recently undergone a dramatic transformation since the
completion of a major building project in Spring 2008. The bright and
spacious open-plan worship area is complemented by a good range of meeting
rooms, kitchen areas and toilets.
The renewed
church facilities are now available for hire to outside organisations and
individuals, either for a one-off business meeting, family gathering/social
event or for a regular group/community booking. Rooms are available on an
hourly or sessional basis and special rates may be offered to church-based
and charitable organisations.
We have a
resident caretaker and, in addition to basic room hire, we are able to offer
printing/photocopying, PowerPoint, sound system, overhead projector and
flipchart.
We are happy
to quote for provision of teas/coffees or light lunches. Our main hall has a
stage area and adjacent kitchen which can be made available for your own
use.
We can even
recommend a DJ if you need one!
(Please note
— No alcohol is allowed on church premises)
