opened and the money counted.
The total for the year comes to
£1,693.27;
this is a wonderful result – thank you so much to everyone. If there is
anyone else who feels they would like to have a box to contribute to NCH
in this way please let me know through the Church Office.
Janet de Bourcier
The Ploughman’s Lunch held on August 13th at the home of Beryl and George
Furness was another happy occasion with the rain holding off long enough for
everyone to enjoy their lunch and to make their purchases from the Produce
Stall – thanks to everyone who so generously provided all the lovely cakes,
marmalade, runner beans, blackberries, marrows, tomatoes, etc. etc.
The total raised was just over £460.

NCH helps the children who need it the most and is one of the UK’s leading
children’s charities. Through more than 500 projects they work with over
140,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families to ensure they
reach their full potential.
Ann Kelly and Janet de Bourcier
-
This is the
child care arm
of the
Methodist
Church
(formerly known
as National
Children’s
Home) and cares
for families
and children
who are facing
particular
difficulties.
It also
conducts
research into
the needs of
families and
children at
risk. Although
it has this
close link with
the Methodist
Church all its
projects are
multi-cultural,
multi-racial.
Epsom
Methodist
Church has an
NCH Support
Group which
works to raise
money for this,
one of the
largest child
care agencies
in the UK,
while also
seeking to
increase
awareness
amongst members
and friends of
the importance
of the work the
charity carries
out.
Normally the
Support Group
organises two
or three
fund-raising
events a year
but latterly
has also shared
joint events
with the
Development
Appeal.
We would
like to thank
everyone for
their generous
support of the
fundraising
activities over
past months
also for all
the direct
contributions.
Also NCH
Diaries are
sold each year
- the money
going directly
to NCH not
through our
local group. We
look forward to
your continuing
support.
Thank you
very much.
