Have you ever found yourself saying any of the following?
I want a much greater overall understanding of my faith, but don't know where to begin.
I can believe something of the Christian faith but some of it seems so far-fetched.
I admire the faith of other people but find it difficult to believe in God myself.
I want to be better equipped to talk about my faith to others.
My Christian life often seems dry and lifeless; I need to find some reality.
Christianity presents me with questions that nobody ever seems to answer.
We meet weekly starting at 7.15pm with meal. This is followed by a talk, which will cover the topics above. There will then be a short break for tea and biscuits after
which we will divide into smaller groups The groups enable doubts to be aired and questions asked. This is where learning can be fun. We share together in helping each
other to find
answers.

On one Saturday, we will go away for the day (not too far!). In the past it has been a great success in helping people to get to know each other better, and the teaching concentrates on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
When and where is it?
If the course is small enough it will be held in a home environment in the Epsom area. You will be notified of the
location at the earliest opportunity.
There is also a launch evening with a meal and a talk about ALPHA prior to the next course at the church starting at 7.15pm. Attendance at the launch meeting does not obligate you to attend the course.
Just come and find out more
Can I come?
Of course, you can. ALPHA is for everyone, not just from Epsom Methodist, but all whatever your background. People of all ages from teenagers upwards have attended these courses.
It particularly caters for: -
Those investigating Christianity
Christians seeking to renew their faith
New Christians
Those wanting a refresher course
Newcomers to any church
What does it cost?
There is no charge for the course.
If you would like, you can of course make a contribution to the cost of meals. There is a small charge for the away day in the middle of the course.
What People have said about ALPHA
I came to understand what it really means to be a Christian. ALPHA gave me a hunger for God that I’d never experienced before.
I have learnt an enormous amount over the last few weeks at ALPHA
I had many questions – the answers I got really made sense.
I got to the end of the course and found myself wishing that it would just go on.
I liked the way the facts were presented and found it really easy to listen to.
Concerning the away day: - Thank you very much for a truly wonderful day.
The current course has been completed, others may be planned for the future if this is the case, please e-mail your interest to the
church office.
