A Question of Spirit Running with Paul

Was held at Epsom Methodist Church Holiday Bible Club

As in past years of Epsom Methodist Church Holiday Bible Club, the months of preparation, a team of willing helpers and approximately 130 young people contributed to another highly successful, enjoyable and exhausting week of fun, singing, praise, stories, dramas, games and craft activities.

The theme for this year was based on the life story of Paul. We learnt of the dramatic changes in his life when he was chosen to follow God, his incredible journeys and exciting life experiences.

Each day we explored a different aspect of Paul's life: -

Paul the Changed Man

Paul the Traveller

Paul the Prisoner

Paul the Letter Writer

Paul the Team Player

Following 2 weeks of the 2004 Olympic Games we managed to link all this to sport!

As usual, the children were divided into age groups:

RED TEAM ------- 5-6 Years

YELLOW TEAM-- 6-7 Years

BLUE TEAM------ 8-9 Years

GREEN TEAM---- 9-10 Years

BLACK TEAM---- 10-14 Years

Each team was lead by their team 'coaches '

Each morning we met at 10.00 a.m. in the church for worship, drama and a fitness training session! [Led by expert coach -- Bob Allen!] - Split into individual groups for either craft or physical activities, had a much needed refreshment break -- thanks to a wonderful team of ladies working away in the kitchen - continued with activities and met again at 12.00 midday for our final worship.

The 'Black' group met up with us for worship but followed their own program for the rest of the morning - still exploring the life of Paul.

On Wednesday the Black group had their traditional day out - this year at High Ashurst Outdoor Activity Centre - rock climbing, abseiling etc.

Yes - Holiday Bible Club 2005 is already in the early planning stages - very early!
