It has come and Gone - Monday 20 - Friday 24, August 2001

HBC Report 2001

Over 150 children aged 0 –14 came to EMC every morning for a week of worship, fun and fellowship. Each day started with celebration worship and a drama to tell the story of the day and, of course, old and new lively HBC songs. The week’s theme was: -

"Come to the Carnival, celebrate the life of Jesus"

In addition, each day focused on a different aspect of Jesus -

His birth

His baptism

The people he knew

His death

And appearing to his disciples on the beach.

The children were split into age groups and travelled to three areas daily – these were:

Physical

Creative

Reflective

In the physical area, the children played games to find out more about the story (eating chocolate bars with a knife and fork came into in somehow!).

In the reflective area, the children looked again at the story, maybe using puppets or quizzes.

In the creative area, the children made fantastic and unusual items of craft.

The whole week was great fun and exhausting for both leaders and children.
